Youth
We believe that the future lies with the youth. Our goal is to involve youth in areas of ministry that will strengthen their own faith at the same time that they serve Christ in acts of mission.
Opportunities for Youth include Sunday morning intergenerational studies, Sunday afternoon Youth Group, Summer Camp experiences, mission trips with the adults, recreational experiences through Presbytery’s Camps and Conference Committee and special trips designed for the youth throughout the year.
Sometimes our programs are designed for a broad range of ages, and other times we target specific age groups. Our goal is that every child will grow in the nurture and admonition of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Youth Group
Our middle school and senior high youth meet for fun, food, fellowship and discussion of faith. This past year we’ve been Faithfully Asking Questions. The youth meet at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoons.
This past year the youth group made trips combining worship, fellowship, and mission work to Lake Junaluska in the winter and summer. Pictures from the summer trip are here.
KidStuf
is an exciting worship environment for children through youth. There is singing and dancing and laughing and Bible Stories and crafts.
Children 4 years and up go to the sanctuary for the first part of the 11:00 worship service. After the anthem they exit with Marcy Heffinger to go to the Common Ground worship area for KidStuf. Infants and children may go to the nursery. There is nursery care on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 12:15. KidStuf is the “Sunday School” environment for elementary to middle school age children.
Child Care
Our nursery provides a safe, clean and happy environment for your children (infants up to three years of age). We want you to have peace of mind when you leave your children with us so that you may participate in worship, Sunday school or other ministries at Forest Hills.
Our nursery is available for worship services and many other church-wide activities.
